Can We Swap is a facilitator only. Your safety is your responsibility — here's how to trade smart.

Before You Trade

Research the person's profile and check their verified badge status
Read their listing carefully and ask questions via internal messaging
Never share personal contact info (phone, email, address) before agreeing to a trade
Trust your instincts — if something feels off, don't proceed

Meeting In Person

Always meet in a public, well-lit location (coffee shop, police station parking lot, etc.)
Bring a friend or let someone know where you're going
Inspect all items thoroughly before completing the trade
Never meet at your home or the other person's home for a first trade

Red Flags to Watch For

Pressure to complete the trade quickly without inspection
Requests to communicate outside the Can We Swap platform
Offers that seem too good to be true
Vague descriptions or refusal to provide more photos
Requests for personal financial information

Reporting & Moderation

Use the Report button on any listing that violates our rules
All reports go directly to our admin review queue
Actions range from warnings to permanent bans
Only admins can delete listings — never take matters into your own hands

Prohibited Content

Illegal goods or services
Restricted weapons (where illegal)
Drugs and controlled substances
Fraudulent or misleading listings
Adult content
Hate speech or harassment
